Full Garden Makeover
The Brief
To create a stylish, low-maintenance outdoor room that offered privacy and a break from the surrounding urban density. The client asked for a space that could be enjoyed both during the day and in the evening — perfect for solo relaxation, reading, or hosting friends. The challenge was to make the area feel larger and more inviting without overcrowding it or adding unnecessary maintenance demands.
Overview
The clients wanted a practical, welcoming outdoor space that catered to both adults and children. Their brief focused on safety, ease of maintenance, and flexibility — the garden needed to accommodate changing needs as the kids grew older. Durability, year-round use, and space for a trampoline or future additions were all important to the final layout.
Research & Discovery
We worked closely with the client to understand their love of traditional gardens, referencing cottage-style inspiration boards and historical layouts. Soil quality tests and a review of the local planting calendar ensured that the selected plants would thrive, while path placement was informed by foot traffic and views from the home.
Solution
A garden full of life and movement.
Using low-mow zones, native wildflowers, water features, and log piles, we created a healthy, low-intervention environment that supports year-round life.
“We couldn’t be happier — the kids have space to run, and we’ve got a beautiful spot to sit and relax. It’s changed the way we use our garden completely.”
